LGP Connect

Development of an e-learning platform for AJMC (Association of Connected Young People from Madeira), which enables the Association’s team to create a free online course in Portuguese Sign Language.

The course is organized into progressive thematic modules, combining instructional videos, GIFs, and assessment quizzes, ensuring a structured learning experience tailored to the characteristics of Portuguese Sign Language.

Access is via a personal account or a Google account, with progress saved per user and modules unlocked sequentially, culminating in the automatic issuance of a certificate of completion.

The solution also includes a content management BackOffice, which gives the AJMC team full autonomy over the course, allowing them to publish new modules, link multimedia content, and create quizzes, including the ability to customize each question. This autonomy ensures the platform’s sustainability and continuous growth, without reliance on external technical support.

The idea initially arose because we felt there was a lack of knowledge regarding Portuguese Sign Language, and the existing options consisted mainly of paid training courses with inflexible formats, which made it difficult to learn and consolidate knowledge.

We got to know JuniFEUP through a previous joint project, FinMadeira, and it became clear that they would be an ideal partner for developing the LGP Connect platform.

We are very pleased with the final result and with how the platform has been received.
